The Ontario Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (OSSGA) is looking for a forward-thinking leader to step into the role of Senior Director, Environment & Sustainability.

Why This Role?
As Senior Director, you’ll be OSSGA’s go-to expert on environmental and sustainability issues. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, you’ll lead major initiatives, work with members and government stakeholders, and bring science-based insights to the table to ensure Ontario’s aggregates industry stays resilient and at the forefront of environmental leadership.
What You’ll Do
- Lead Environmental Strategy including Indigenous Relations: Oversee Indigenous Relations, rehabilitation, water management, biodiversity, and sustainable development efforts for OSSGA’s member organizations.
- Be a Voice of Change: Represent OSSGA on external committees, provide insight on legislation, prepare impactful submissions for policy development, and present to political and government staff.
- Support Members: Offer guidance through bulletins, workshops, seminars, and direct engagement to help members implement best practices in sustainability.
- Connect with Experts: Collaborate with post-secondary institutions and scientific communities to stay ahead of environmental innovations.
- Promote Education & Recognition: Drive professional development and manage OSSGA’s Industry Advancement and Health & Safety awards.
What We’re Looking For
- An advanced degree in environmental management, engineering, land use planning, or a related field.
- At least 7 to 12 years of professional experience in a resource management and/or construction sectors.
- Proven project management, communication, and leadership skills.
- A collaborative mindset with the confidence to present, engage, and influence.
- Passion for making environmental progress happen—on the ground and in policy.
- Excellent proficiency in both written and oral English.
- Candidates must have a vehicle and a valid driver’s license.
