M- D Pro is seeking a Director of Marketing for our Milton, Ontario location. This ideal person will lead our brand strategy, drive growth, and elevate our market presence. In this key leadership role, and oversee a talented marketing team, craft innovative strategies, and ensure alignment with business objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Marketing team consisting of approximately 12 individuals and/or agency resources. Ability to provide mentorship and help employees develop to their full potential.
- Oversee, support, and set strategic direction for all functions within Product Development, Category Management, Merchandising, Digital Marketing, Brand and Communications.
- Provide direction and support the execution of trade specific marketing programs into Retail, Distribution, and Builder channels.
- Review and approve all marketing campaigns, communications, creative, sampling, packaging, etc. prior to publishing/launching.
- Manage and maintain marketing budget to support overall strategic direction. Track, monitor and approve all marketing expenses relative to the marketing budget allowance. Use innovative and creative thinking to maximize marketing spend to drive best results.
- Ensure marketing strategic plans are on track for execution by team members and keep team members engaged and informed of timelines.
- Work closely with senior sales team members in the implementation of sales and marketing plans. (i.e., key target accounts for ABM, distribution network penetration analysis to determine areas of focus for digital marketing campaigns, etc.)
- Work with all departments cross-functionally to support Product Development process (Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, Technical, Sales, Merchandising, Marketing Communications and Digital etc.)
- Analyze data and make confident key decisions which affect the business and categories.
- Strong public speaking required to present new ideas and aid with product knowledge training programs, customer presentations, etc.
- Work closely with Marketing team in the U.S. which helps support category-specific initiatives for the Canadian business and product development projects.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Post-Secondary Education: University/College Diploma (Business, Commerce, Marketing, an asset)
- 10+ years of marketing management experience with proven people management and development skills
- 5+ years’ experience within the building products and/or consumer hardware industry is preferred.
- Experience in trade and/or channel marketing (Retail, Wholesale Distribution and Builder/A&D).
- Experience in strategic planning, project management, budgeting, and priority setting.
- Knowledge/understanding of manufacturing business, supply chain, sourcing, and inventory management.
- Knowledge/understanding of both traditional and digital marketing strategies and execution.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Strong skills required in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Proficient knowledge on CRM, Marketing Automation, Project Management Software Tools
- Knowledge/understanding of ERP systems such as EPICOR (an asset)
