As the National Director, A&D Sales and Strategic Partnerships, you will establish Ames A&D Sales Team as the recognized leader, specifier of choice, in the markets and segments we serve resulting in sustainable growth in sales and profitability. Ensure alignment in go to market strategy between Marketing and A&D Sales Team nationally.
What You’ll Do:
- Hire, develop and retain A players to the A&D team and model Ames values for the team.
- Leadership, coaching, mentoring and development of the A&D Team Members.
- Lead the development of our A&D business strategy, including sub-strategies for each segment within our A&D strategy.
- Work with VP Marketing to align support functions (marketing, sales support, product selection, purchasing, market research) to optimize sales growth.
- Contribute to the creation of the Ames Brand and establishment of our brand in the market.
- Lead the expansion of our brand into the Ontario market, documenting the competitive landscape, identifying key accounts, and developing a market penetration strategy.
- Adjust the focus of our segmentation strategies to reflect the unique conditions and opportunities in each market we serve.
- Establish the profile of the ideal rep for each segment.
- Design rep territories and key accounts focusing on customers that represent greatest opportunities.
- Manage territory size for optimal productivity.
- Develop and administer KPIs to drive accountability and productivity within the A&D team, leveraging all digital tools available and ensuring complete and accurate data inputs and reporting.
- Work with IT to establish dashboards, workflows, and processes to support the active and meaningful use of our CRM.
- Identify leaders/key decision makers in each of our business segments, map relationships, and lead our efforts to establish high level partnerships with these leaders/decision makers.
- Coordinate closely with Marketing to unify the client experience across all sales channels.
- Act as key participant in the product selection process, translating trend insights from the A&D team and the market into strategic product recommendations that align with our business objectives.
- Establish Ames as a leader in industry education.
- Build trust and collaboration with our branch teams.
- Build trust and collaboration between all Ames sales functions.
- Take an active role in Ames digital transformation and collaborate to ensure UX, tools, and processes are streamlined for maximum impact.
- Identify and participate in key industry organizations.
- Actively participate in event planning and other strategic initiatives in each market.
Who You Are:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Architecture, Interior Design, or related field (MBA preferred).
- 10+ years of experience in sales leadership, with a strong track record in the A&D or construction industry.
- Proven success in leading high-performance teams and executing growth strategies across multiple regions.
- Expertise in business development, key account management, and market expansion.
- Strong financial acumen, with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and meeting sales targets.
- In-depth understanding of the A&D market, with established relationships and industry knowledge.
- Experience with CRM systems and digital sales tools to optimize team performance and customer engagement.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% for market engagement and team leadership.
