Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Finance Associate to join our dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will oversee key accounting functions such as month-end closing, cash flow forecasting, foreign exchange (FX) management, and tax compliance. This role is crucial in ensuring accurate financial reporting, liquidity management, and regulatory adherence.
Key Responsibilities
1. Month-End Close & Financial Reporting
- Manage the month-end closing process, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
- Prepare financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) in accordance with GAAP/IFRS standards.
- Analyze variances between actuals and budget/forecasts, providing key insights to stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.
2. Cash Flow Forecasting & Management
- Develop and maintain short- and long-term cash flow forecasts.
- Monitor daily cash positions to ensure adequate liquidity.
- Collaborate with treasury to manage bank relationships and optimize working capital.
- Monitor foreign currency exposures and assist in mitigating exchange rate risks.
- Work with the treasury team to execute FX hedging strategies.
3. Tax Compliance
- Ensure accurate tracking and reporting of input tax credits.
- Prepare and file timely VAT tax returns, ensuring compliance with local tax regulations.
- Work with external consultants to support tax preparation
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or in progress)
- Experience: 3+ years of full cycle accounting
- Software Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics) and advanced MS Excel skills.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of GAAP/IFRS and local tax regulations.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Understanding of Treasury Management process – prior treasury experience is an asset particularly with regard to cash pooling.
