The District Sales Manager (DSM) for Commercial Building & Infrastructure (CBI) is responsible for leading, mentoring, and overseeing a team of CTMs within a defined district. The DSM drives overall sales growth by ensuring the CBI portfolio of commercial roofing systems is consistently positioned as the preferred choice for owners, architects, builders, contractors, and distribution customers. In addition to developing sales strategies, the DSM is accountable for ensuring the team meets or exceeds sales targets, fostering key relationships, and expanding market share.
- Support Territory Managers within the district, providing strategic guidance, training, and performance management to drive individual and team success.
- Collaborate closely with the Regional Commercial Sales Manager to develop and execute sales strategies that align with company goals, ensuring sustained demand and increased market share for CBI’s commercial roofing systems.
- Foster and maintain high-value relationships between the CBI organization and key customers, including owners, architects, contractors, builders, and distribution partners.
- Actively identify new opportunities within the district, working with Territory Managers to create “pull-through” demand and ensure alignment with distribution channels to close sales.
- Regularly review sales performance metrics, provide actionable insights, and implement corrective actions to ensure sales targets are met or exceeded across the district
- This role requires travel within the assigned district, estimated 50-75%
WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?
What do you bring?
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture, marketing, business (preferred) or similar discipline or ten years of equivalent training and experience that provides thorough knowledge of the laws, regulations and practices concerned with the field of construction
- 5+ years of applied professional experience which includes managing customer relationships, sales presentations, and closings of sales
- Valid driver’s license and able to successfully pass our MVR background check.
- Proven track record of successful sales leadership within the commercial building and infrastructure industry, preferably with roofing systems.
- Strong ability to mentor and lead sales teams to exceed targets.
- Excellent relationship-building and negotiation skills
- Knowledge of commercial and residential construction practices
- Exceptional presentation skills with good written and oral communication
