As part of the Kingspan Group, Vicwest has an ambitious sustainability program, Planet Passionate, revolving around the impact of building materials on the environment.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Product Manager will oversee the successful launch and integration of physical products from concept to commercialization. This individual will lead the management of manufacturing processes, ensuring products are produced at scale, meet customer expectations, and adhere to quality standards. The role involves collaborating across multiple departments, including engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, finance, marketing, and sales, to ensure that the production, assembly, and delivery of products are efficient and aligned with market launch deadlines. The Product Manager will also be responsible for overseeing product development timelines, managing supplier relationships, and coordinating with production teams to resolve any issues that arise during manufacturing. This position is focused exclusively on physical goods and their entire lifecycle from design to production.
This position reports to the VP, Procurement.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Project Management - oversees the development and delivery of new products by coordinating cross-functional teams, managing timelines, ensuring alignment with business objectives, and mitigating risks to achieve successful product launches.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration - accountable for fostering strong collaboration across diverse teams, including engineering, marketing, sales, and customer support, ensuring seamless communication and alignment to drive the successful development and launch of products.
- Product Readiness - responsible for ensuring that all aspects of the product are thoroughly tested, refined, and aligned with market needs, and that the product is fully prepared for launch with the necessary resources, training, and support systems in place for a smooth market introduction.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee the entire product development process, from concept to commercialization.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams (engineering, marketing, sales, manufacturing) to ensure smooth product launch.
- Manage project timelines, resources, and milestones to ensure timely product delivery.
- Ensure products meet industry regulations, safety standards, and quality requirements.
- Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to develop effective go-to-market strategies.
- Oversee product testing, certification, and regulatory approvals before launch.
- Conduct market research to understand customer needs, market trends, and competitive landscape.
- Ensure timely availability of raw materials and components by coordinating with suppliers.
- Ensure new products align with sustainability goals and environmental compliance standards
- Gather customer feedback post-launch and make improvements based on market and user input.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Post-Secondary Education in a Business, Industrial Design, Engineering or Construction Studies.
- 5+ years in project management, product development, or manufacturing.
- Proven experience with new product launches in a relevant industry (e.g., construction materials, consumer goods, or technology).
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, or similar).
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing project scopes and priorities.
- Must be detail oriented and highly organized
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Ability to adjust strategies and tactics in response to changes in the market, customer needs, and/or company priorities
- The ability to address conflicts with customers (both internal and external) constructively, maintaining positive relationships and ensuring smooth operations
