What will you do?
- Coordinate with material suppliers to schedule and ensure timely delivery of necessary supplies to project sites.
- Schedule all installations, inspections, and services to maintain efficient and high-quality project completion.
- Collaborate with the Construction Manager to develop and maintain project schedules and milestones, as well as monitor progress.
- Proactively identify and resolve potential scheduling conflicts or interpersonal issues.
- Implement process improvements and provide regular project updates to management.
- Review and approve all production schedules, completion documentation, and site purchase orders.
- Ensure subcontractors, inspectors, and suppliers adhere to scheduled activities, maintaining focus on quality, adherence to project specifications, scope of work, contract terms, and all applicable building codes.
- Resolve problems efficiently and effectively within established authority, while preserving positive relationships.
- Plan, organize, and lead regular meetings and safety briefings with staff and trades to discuss materials, quality, production, and safety.
- Provide training and mentorship to staff in both technical and interpersonal skills.
- Maintain a safe work environment and ensure compliance with the company's health and safety program, including safe work practices, first aid procedures, and relevant provincial health and safety legislation.
- Contribute to project progress through on-site effort as needed in a working supervisor capacity.
Who are you?
- Significant experience in residential construction within the new home industry, preferably at a senior level.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Strong attention to detail, excellent interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities, and demonstrated leadership skills.
- Commitment to safety, communication, and customer satisfaction, with a focus on delivering a high-quality final product.
- Comprehensive understanding of relevant building codes and health and safety regulations.
- Thorough knowledge of contracts, plans, specifications, construction methods, materials, and regulations. This includes familiarity with various trades, staff responsibilities, scheduling, and scopes of work.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively, with strong problem-solving skills to address issues as they arise.
- Dedication to ongoing professional development and adaptability to new products, methods, and materials.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated accountability and reliability.
- Effective leadership skills and teaching abilities.
- Basic hand tools required.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Ability to perform physical tasks related to construction work, including lifting, reaching, standing, kneeling, and climbing.
