Your future team:
The Asset Manager will report to the Operations Manager and does not have any direct reports. Asset Manager will be working with the shift supervisors of both line and pipe production departments.
What you will be doing:
The Asset Manager will be responsible for overseeing the Line and/or Pipe Production Department. Ensuring the department and its employees have all the tools and knowledge to execute tasks following all health and safety requirements and meeting production quality specifications, KPI’s and deadlines. The Asset Manager will be responsible for ensuring the department is on track to meet its monthly/yearly targets and for implementing projects and improvements to ensure continued safe and efficient production. The Asset Manager will play a key role in driving the company’s growth and success by optimizing resources, enhancing productivity, and maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
- Ensure strict application and adherence to all safety rules for all employees
- Responsible to ensure the departments employees have the knowledge and tools to perform tasks safely and in adherence to health, safety, and environmental policies
- That the department is in a safe operating state and upheld to a high standard of Housekeeping
- Oversee operations and manage the Line and/or PSM departments to meet weekly, monthly and yearly production KPI’s
- Coordinate with planning to create a production schedule to ensure machine efficiency and delivery dates met
- Follow-up on events taken place on shift and ensure any outstanding issues are being actioned
- Work closely with the maintenance department to ensure smooth, continuous, and reliable operations
- Oversee and manage projects as required to help streamline the process and improve efficiencies
- Drive Operational Excellence within the department and be an agent of change management to ensure continuous improvement
- Drive safety initiatives and actions in your department
- Communicate expectations for your department
- Ensure operational plans are created and communicated effectively between teams and departments.
- Attend and contribute effectively to daily Tier 1 and Tier 2 Production Meetings – coming prepared with current production standings and plans for how to improve or maintain stats
- Communicate (and support) management decisions to the department
- Coach, develop, and train the team to ensure continuous improvement.
What you bring:
- 3 to 5 years of production supervisory experience, preferably in a manufacturing setting
- University or Technical College graduate (preferably in Business Management, Operations Management, or Engineering) or equivalent years of experience
- Elevated Safety and Quality standards
- Sound understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles
- Experience working with a unionized workforce
- Exceptional communication and team-building skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Good people development and training skills
- Drive, commitment, self-motivation and high energy. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage stressful work situations, keeping the team focused on tasks and solutions
