Position Summary:
Reporting to the Sales Manager – LG – Quebec - Atlantic, The Territory Manager (TM) Dealer Channel is responsible for maintaining and developing existing accounts, promoting sales programs, and sourcing new business opportunities in assigned territory. The TM is the primary owner of the relationship with the dealer channel accounts in the assigned territory, with the key role of developing business solutions to developing and driving more profitable business into our key partners’ stores.
Key responsibilities:
- Implements Vicwest sales plans, marketing, pricing, and distribution strategies for Residential and agricultural market streams as appropriate to the assigned territory
- Manage existing account relationships and continually source opportunities to increase sales
- Identify and develop target accounts by presenting a value proposition for Vicwest to capture selling opportunities/leads in assigned territory
- Determine customers’ needs by demonstrating knowledge of the industry, pricing, and competition, and develop effective solution-oriented proposals for presentation
- Utilize opportunity and project tracker tools to follow-up on agricultural and residential projects to ensure cohesive development and tracking of projects and opportunities to grow Vicwest sales in assigned territory
- Identify and understand competitive landscape, inclusive of product and market dynamic, and actively shares these findings appropriately
- Maintain productive relationships with retailers within the channel and contractors in the assigned territory to ensure continued support for all Vicwest product lines
- Maintain diligence with call planning, reporting, and follow-ups to ensure an effective communication loop is maintained with customers, operations and customer service Territory Manager Dealer Channel – Agri & Residential
- Daily use of Customer Relationship Management tool (Salesforce) to plan customer visits, record activities, and schedule follow-up calls
- Finalize and close sales with target accounts within assigned territory to achieve/exceed financial objectives including sales, share, and profitability
- Advance Vicwest’s position in the market through enhanced partnerships with key accounts to facilitate project tracking and execution of initiatives
- Accurately prepare structured and ad hoc market reports, and track performance to deliver/exceed the Territory sales plan monthly, quarterly, and annually
- Maintain current product and program knowledge – both Vicwest and competitive information –to be able to use facts, data, and information to effectively overcome barriers to close sale
- Supporting marketing activities by attending tradeshows, conferences and other marketing events
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business or other related area
- Knowledge of/experience in the Construction industry
- Must be able to present a value proposition and overcome price discussion/negotiation
- Ability to execute on key deliverables
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically and tactically
- Excellent (verbal and written) communication, interpersonal, negotiation, analytical, problem-solving, and judgment skills
- Ability to motivate others to achieve results
- Ability to collaborate and coordinate across the internal organization
- Financial acumen
- Knowledge of computer systems/programs
- Demonstrated ability to organize and manage time
- Demonstrates the ability to provide solutions to customer needs in a win-win fashion
- Bilingualism not essential but a strong asset.
