What will you do?
This role sits in the planning and pre-construction department. There are 5 sub-divisions and this role is for the Construction division.
Construction Management Leadership:
- Lead and manage all aspects of construction projects where Unified acts as the Construction Manager, overseeing the project from design to completion.
- Provide expert guidance and oversight on constructibility, including optimizing means, methods, and sequencing throughout the design and construction phases.
- Review and refine technical drawings (currently 75% complete and submitted for building permit) to ensure efficient and effective construction processes.
Tender and Procurement Management:
- Develop comprehensive tender checklists and detailed scope of work profiles for inclusion in tender documents.
- Collaborate with internal procurement teams to develop and execute standalone scope of work and tender summaries.
- Liaise with cost consultants and trade contractors to oversee and validate proformas.
Project Design and Permitting:
- Collaborate with technical design consultants to advance drawings and prepare permit submissions.
- Validate budgets provided by procurement and cost consultants.
Schedule and Deliverable Management:
- Lead the development and management of milestone schedules and deliverables.
- Provide comprehensive project reporting, including forecasting and schedule updates.
Field Leadership and Problem Solving:
- Lead projects in the field, acting as the primary liaison with site supervisors and trade contractors.
- Provide technical problem-solving expertise, ensuring efficient and cost-effective solutions are implemented.
- Oversee and manage scheduling, cost performance, and reporting.
Cost and Schedule Optimization:
- Work closely with site supervisors, lead trade contractors, and consultants to develop cost-effective and schedule-efficient solutions to field challenges.
- Plan, coordinate, award, and implement comprehensive construction management plans.
Stakeholder Management:
- Interface with partners and internal stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
Who are you?
- Minimum 6 years of proven experience as a Project Manager in the construction industry.
- Mandatory: Experience completing at least 1 full construction cycle, 2 highly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
- Proficient in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Procore).
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
